Boone County Deputy Reports Negligent Discharge Of Department Issued Rifle

On Saturday, December 12th, BCSO Deputy Nick Zuranski, a merit deputy with BCSO, reported a negligent discharge of his department issued firearm at his apartment in The Blvd at Anson. The deputy was alone when he was attempting to place the firearm on a table for adjustment. The round traveled through an exterior wall, away from other apartments and out into an unpopulated wooded area. No other persons were present and no injuries were sustained in this incident. Currently we are conducting an internal investigation and the matter will be forwarded to the Firearms Review Board.
