Boone County is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Parr as the county’s new Director of Administration.
A lifelong Boone County resident and a 2000 graduate of Western Boone High School, Parr brings nearly two decades of public service experience to the role. He began his career with the Boone County Highway Department in 2006, serving in multiple capacities before being appointed Director of Highways, a position he has held for the past five years. During that time, Parr led key initiatives to strengthen county infrastructure and ensure safe, efficient transportation for residents.
As Director of Administration, Parr will work closely with the Boone County Commissioners to support day-to-day county operations and facilitate effective communication and coordination among elected officials, department leaders, vendors, and partner agencies.
“I’m excited to begin this new chapter as Boone County’s Director of Administration,” Parr said. “Working closely with the Commissioners and our local partners, I’m eager to build strong relationships and keep lines of communication open so we can continue serving our community in the best way possible.”
Boone County Commissioner Scott Pell said Parr’s experience and leadership made him a natural fit for the position.
“Nick Parr understands Boone County because he has lived it, worked in it, and helped build it,” Pell said. “His proven leadership, work ethic, and commitment to public service give us great confidence that he will excel in this role and continue to move the county forward.”
Known for his hands-on leadership style and dedication to excellence, Parr combines strategic planning with a strong passion for community service. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering with local youth sports teams and leagues in which his two sons are active participants.
Parr’s appointment reflects Boone County’s ongoing commitment to effective management, collaboration, and responsive local government.
