Betty M. Thayer, 95, of Lebanon, Indiana passed away peacefully Wednesday October 8, 2025, and is now rejoicing with Jesus. She was born on March 4, 1930, in Columbus, IN to the late Ray and Frieda Donica. Betty was married to Lynn R. Thayer (deceased).
Betty was a minister’s wife, she and Lynn owned Model Sports, and she was a CPA with various businesses that included, Triangle Asphalt, Parkwood Nursing Home and the Indiana Convention and Visitors Bureau.
She was active in her community being on the Board for The Friends of the Library, a member of Psi Iota Xi, tutoring elementary students and at the Boone County Jail, a member of the Red Hats Society.
Betty loved her family and nurtured the value of charity throughout her family and community. The only gift she ever asked of her loved ones was simple – to honor their blessings by sharing them, and to let her know how they were making the world a little kinder in doing so. Betty attended Centenary United Methodist Church, and her legacy of faith, compassion, and selfless love will forever be cherished.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Ron) Curtis of Kalamazoo, MI; daughter-in-law, Tonya Thayer of Lebanon; grandchildren, Dean (Kate) Thayer of Fennville, MI, Natalie (Scott) Kruger of Zionsville, Melissa Stambaugh of Lebanon, Heather (Brian) Montgomery of Lebanon, Andrew (Heidi) Thayer of Zionsville, and Jodi (Nate) Trierweiler of Ft. Wayne, IN; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and one on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her two sons, Mike Thayer and Sam Thayer, and her grandson-in-law, Andy Myers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
