Belinda Naomi (Newsom) Roler

Belinda Naomi (Newsom) Roler, 88, passed into the loving embrace of her Savior on October 18. Born in Panama City to Nellie (Finch) and Laston Newsom, Belinda was the middle of three children. Her husband, Max Roler, preceded her in death in March of 2012.

Belinda had an eye for symmetry and color and found much joy in creating beautiful work through sewing, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, sketching, painting, jewelry making, photography and especially in creating beautiful flower beds. Her flower beds were always a show stopper in the neighborhood in which she lived. Although she had a love of nature, she could shoot a snake out of a tree with great precision! With her zest for life, Belinda was also a masterful storyteller. She could paint vivid pictures with her words and make you laugh for hours with her stories of growing up in the deep south. Reading was another of her passions. She found the most pleasure in reading history, period pieces, science fiction, and books on faith. She prided herself on her appearance as much when going to the grocery as she did when going to a social event. To this end, she greatly enjoyed wearing jewelry and clothing items she had made herself. Belinda took pride in keeping a clean and well-organized home, enjoying the challenge of performing many of her own home repairs. She truly lived life her way! While facing many health issues in her final years she found much comfort in reading the scriptures and in having them read to her. This was particularly true of the Psalms.

She leaves behind three daughters, Charlene Myers (fiancé, Kenny Roy) of Ft. Myers, FL, Zoe (Rob) Farrow of Jamestown, IN, and Alicia (Tim) Pullen of Walton, IN. Belinda also leaves six grandchildren, Brenna Myers (Joe) Obirek, Dr. Rob (Jackie) Farrow II, Jacqui Farrow (Blake) Uhler, Victoria Farrow, Mason (Samantha) Pullen and Keegan Pullen. Additionally, she was blessed with ten great grandchildren.

Belinda will be laid to rest on Saturday, October 25, in the Dover Cemetery following a private graveside service. Donations in Belinda’s memory can be made to the charity of donor’s choice or to St. Jude’s as this was Belinda’s favorite charity.

Final care of Belinda has been entrusted to the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
