Barbara J. Witt

Barbara J. Witt, 77, of Lebanon and formerly of Thorntown, died Friday, May 2 surrounded by her loving family at her residence. The daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Weller) Yount, Barbara was born September 16, 1947 in Lebanon, Indiana.  She grew up in Advance and moved to Thorntown. She graduated from Granville Wells in 1965 and married William H. Witt on October 6, 1967, he preceded her in death on September 29, 2017.

Barbara worked as a pharmacy technician with the Lebanon Wal Mart for thirty years where she made many wonderful friends. She was active with the 4H, PTA, Girl and Boy Scouts, sewed flags and uniforms for teams and was there for anything that involved her kids or grandkids.  

Survivors include her children, Timothy (Sadie Joyner) Witt of Lebanon, Bryan (Lisa Howard) Witt of Whitestown and Crystal (Mike) Inman of Sheridan; grandchildren, Israel Witt, Maggie Inman, Melodie Inman, Alyssa Olaosebikan and David Marden; brother David (Jean) Yount and brother-in-law Keith Witt. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Stoner and her husband, Harold.

Family and friends will gather of Friday, May 9 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10 in the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.  Barbara will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Plainview Cemetery in Colfax.
