Arson Suspect To Be Tried As A Juvenile
A teenager accused of lighting a downtown Zionsville building on fire will not be tried as an adult. Boone County Circuit Court Magistrate Sally Berish denied a motion to waive the 18-year-old male who was 17 at the time of the alleged crime to adult court. He will be tried in a juvenile court and is charged with felony arson.
The alleged arson occurred in the early morning hours July 10 at the former Kogan Antiques and Lighting store at 195 S. Main St. Investigators determined the fire started with the lighting of an Israeli flag. The suspect is accused of using a lighter to start the fire.
