2 Vehicle Accident Results In Serious Bodily Injury

On April 29th, 2025, at approximately 11:06 AM, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Thorntown Police Department were dispatched to a multiple vehicle accident with entrapment on top of the State Road 47 bridge and Interstate 65.

Upon arrival, first responders located a semi-truck and trailer with a red Toyota Camry underneath the trailer. The semi was driven by Darwin Armstrong, 62, of Scottsburg, IN. The Camry was driven by Stephen Wuebker, 62, of Frankfort, IN. First responders located Mr. Wuebker trapped inside the vehicle with serious injuries. First responders were able to free Mr. Wuebker from the vehicle so he could be transported.

Mr. Armstrong was treated on the scene, and Mr. Wuebker was transported to a hospital with serious bodily injuries. The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was requested to investigate the accident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
