The Indiana Department of Transportation announces flagging operations that will impact State Road 47 and S.R. 39 in Boone County for spot paving. Michael Wayne Hawkins, 71, passed away at his home in Lebanon, Indiana on Friday, October 31, 2025. He was born December 1, 1953, in Lebanon; a son of the late Harold N. and Katherine G. (Jamison) Hawkins. On January 14, 2004, he married Tammy F. (Boyer) Hawkins in Lebanon; she survives. Michael was a student at Lebanon High School and held a position as a drywall finisher. Anderson E. Frederick (Eugene), 91, of Crawfordsville, Indiana went to be with Jesus on October 31, 2025. He was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on January 4, 1934; a son of the late John Henry Frederick and Ameada (Lockaby) Frederick. He previously worked as a welder at Central States Bridge and Structural Company until he retired. In his earlier years, Anderson worked alongside his dad in the tobacco fields. He enjoyed spending time with his family and girlfriend, Georgie.

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure that will impact State Road 75 in Jamestown. Beginning on or after Monday, November 3, CSX Transportation will close the crossing on S.R. 75 just north of U.S. 136 for repairs. Work is anticipated to last until the end of the week but is weather-dependent and subject to change. The official detour around the closure is U.S. 136 to S.R. 39 to I-74.
