On February 10, 2025, at approximately 6:06 PM, the Frankfort Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Rowe St for a report of a burglary. When officers arrived, they checked the names of the individuals present. One of the individuals, 41-year-old, Joshua Mays, had a warrant out of Michigan for Failure to Appear for felony assault. Mays refused to comply with officers. At one point he brandished a knife. The officers were able to talk Mays into dropping that knife, however, he told them he had a larger knife concealed on him.
Mays continued to refuse to comply with the lawful arrest. Mays went to the back of the property where officers continued to talk to him. Eventually, a conducted energy device (Taser) was deployed. Mays was safely arrested without further incident. He was transported by Clinton County EMS to IU Frankfort for evaluation. He will be taken to the Clinton County Jail upon release.
Mays is not a person of interest in the burglary. We will ask the Clinton County Prosecutor to charge Mays with Intimidation and Resisting Law Enforcement.
