The Clinton County Sheriff's Department have received multiple calls regarding citizens getting texts from the "Clinton County Sheriff's Office" asking for an immediate response to gain personal information. The CCSO does NOT contact the community via text.
Another scam they are seeing is a "Failure to Appear warrant" where citizens are told to get cash from their bank and deposit it into kiosks around the area.
You can report these scams to the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office at 317-232-6330.
