Wednesday, members of the 2025–26 Boone County Leadership (BCL) cohort, alongside CFBC staff, presented the Boone County Indiana Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Tony Harris with a $5,000 grant to support inmates pursuing education while incarcerated. This grant was made possible through a fundraising effort led by the cohort, along with a generous donor gift. The Boone County Solid Waste Management District report due to the continued misuse of the medicine collection bin located at the Whitestown Municipal Complex, the bin is being removed, effective immediately. According to the district, every attempt was made to educate and offer an alternative to properly disposing of needles. A list on how to properly dispose of needles is available from the Boone County Health Department .

Jacob Cram, 36, of Lebanon waived his right to a jury trial and is now scheduled for a bench trial in September. Cram is accused of Killing Donald Bowers of Lebanon back in September of 25. Boone Superior Court I Judge Matthew Kincaid will hear the case. Cram is currently being held in the Ern K. Hudson Justice Center in Lebanon.
