The Carpenter Nature Preserve is officially open to the public. What was once Wolf Run Golf Course has been transformed into Boone County's largest nature preserve and the first park in Union Township. This 215-acre preserve protects important natural habitat while creating new opportunities for residents and visitors to explore, learn, and connect with nature. The Carpenter Nature Preserve is located at 601 S. 900 E. Zionsville and is open daily, dawn to dusk.

The Lebanon Fire Department had the honor of swearing in one active Firefighter and one newly hired recruit at Monday’s Lebanon City Council meeting. Mayor Gentry administered the oath of office to Probationary Firefighter Michael Ellis and Recruit Garrett Morton. Michael Ellis graduated from the Northside Fire Academy in December 2025 and is assigned to Engine 212 A-Shift. Recruit Garrett Morton is currently enrolled in fire school at the Northside Fire Academ

Lebanon residents will have another reason to go to the polls this November. City residents will vote on whether to approve financing for a new police station after the City Council unanimously advanced a referendum for what officials describe as one of the largest capital projects in city history. The referendum will ask voters whether to increase property taxes for up to 20 years to finance construction of the new headquarters. If approved the tax impact would be about $216

On Sunday July 5th the "Boone County Symphony Celebrates America's 250th Birthday." The concert will be at Abner Longley Park. The concert will start at 7PM. Along with the orchestra/band, there will be a small choir, a bell choir, & a few young people doing some patriotic readings. The concert will finish at 9:30 with fireworks as the orchestra/band plays "Stars & Stripes Forever."
