Boone County Prosecutor Kent Eastwood announces that William A. Wills, 31, of Indianapolis has pleaded guilty to Dealing in a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death, a Level 1 felony. The charge arises from the death of Travis M. Barnes, who was found deceased in his Boone County residence on September 2, 2023. An autopsy determined that Barnes died as a result of combined intoxication of alprazolam, fentanyl, and morphine. The investigation was led by Detective Eric Adam

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that the Ford Road bridge over I-865 is set to close for a bridge replacement project on the southeast side of Zionsville. Beginning on or after Monday, June 8, Ford Road will close around the bridge through late fall. During this closure, the official detour will follow Hunt Club Road, Cooper Road (County Road 850 E.), and 96th Street. Pending school board approval, Zionsville has named Andy Weaver to take over the helm of the Eagles' Boys basketball program. Weaver replaces J.R. Howell, who left Zionsville earlier this month to take a coaching position at Iowa United Prep. Weaver most recently was the head coach at Plainfield. Weaver has also been the head coach at Pioneer and Western, amassing 422 wins, six sectional and one regional title.
