Linda Jean Summers, 79, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 3, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jack W. and Denelden (Jones) Owens. Linda was raised and educated in Ohio and soon after she moved to Indiana. On December 15, 1967, she was united in marriage to Francis Marshall “Frank” Summers in Boone County, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2014. Linda was a dedicated housewif

Frankfort Mayor Judy Sheets announced Monday that she will seek re-election as Mayor of the city of Frankfort. Sheets has spent more than four decades in service to the community, including nearly thirty years with the Frankfort Police Department and twelve years as the city’s elected Clerk-Treasurer, before taking office as Mayor in 2020. Sheets will run in the Republican primary on May 4, 2027.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department would like to recognize and congratulate Deputy Anitra Ford on her retirement from the Clinton County Sheriff's Office after 14 years of service to the citizens of Clinton County. Deputy Ford began her career with the Sheriff's Office on July 31, 2012 as a Merit Deputy and retired on August 18.

On Monday August 31, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Boone County Corrections Officers located an unresponsive male inmate in an assigned cell within a secure housing area of the Boone County Jail. Emergency medical services were immediately requested. Despite lifesaving efforts by personnel on scene, the inmate was pronounced deceased. The inmate has been identified as Andrew Rose, 26, of Lebanon, Indiana. Rose was booked into the Boone County Jail on April 14, 2026, for a pr
