Born on June 4, 1960, to Lawrence R. “Bob” Shaffer and Rita (Schoentrup) Shaffer, Dan grew up in Monticello, Indiana, spending summers on Lake Freeman with family and friends, memories he talked about often throughout his life. Zionsville School Ask For A Voter Referendum
Zionsville voters will decide in November on a referendum for Zionsville Community Schools that would generate up to $21.4 million per year. The ZCS Board of Trustees approved a ballot question June 8 for an eight-year operating referendum. The referendum is meant to sustain the district’s offerings and class sizes as it will fund one in three teachers, consistent with previous referendums for ZCS.

Commissioners To Consider Moratorium On Data Centers
A one-year moratorium on data centers will be heard by the Boone County Commissioners. The Boone County Area Plan Commission gave a favorable recommendation on the pause June 3. If passed, the moratorium would prevent any data center project in the unincorporated parts of the county for one year. The county commissioner’s next meeting is at 9 a.m. June 15.
