Revolutionary War Reenactor Comes To Michigantown

Next Thursday, at the Mighigantown Community Center join Raymond Beets to get a reenactor’s perspective on the Revolutionary War. In his presentation, Beets will bring the Revolutionary War alive for his audience by demonstrating militia and Continental Army uniforms as well as his rifle, musket, and other items from the colonial period. He will also discuss the historical inaccuracies of the famous poem “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere” along with the history of the song “Yankee Doodle Dandy.” In addition, Beets will talk about the Declaration of Independence and its meaning for us today.
