Boone County Sheriff Ask For The Publics Help

On May 30th, 2024, in the area of County Road 1100 East south of State Road 32, a bicyclist was struck by a motor vehicle from behind while traveling southbound on County Road 1100 East. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division was not notified of this incident until June 4th, 2024, as it was originally reported in Hamilton County.
While investigators have been attempting to gather information on the suspect and vehicle all leads have been exhausted. We are reaching out to the public for assistance in trying to locate the suspect and vehicle who hit and seriously injured the bicyclist. The bicyclist was hit from behind and went unconscious for a period of time. The bicyclist is recovering from serious injuries that resulted in broken bones and lots of bruising.
At this time the only information that is known is the accident occurred on May 30th, 2024, at approximately 5:15pm on County Road 1100 E south of State Road 32. Another bicyclist traveling north on County Road 1100 East stopped to aid the bicyclist that was struck and reported that a black motor vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound in the area.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to reach out if they have any knowledge of the event in question. We are specifically looking for any surveillance video in that area on that date, however, any information that can lead to the identification of the suspect and/or vehicle will be helpful.
